Having diabetes doesn’t mean that you wouldn’t get to eat what you like or have things in your routine included that you once used to like. As a diabetic patient, you would be required to eat so many things and there would be so many diabetic recipes that you would want to try at home for yourself but you think you cannot because of the sugar content there are motioned in those recipes but now you can have so many options for yourself that weren’t available before. Due to modernization and industries going enhanced and improved on so many things, you can nearly have anything cooked within a short time span that is good for your health as a diabetic patient.
Most of the time, you are heard that you cannot consume cookies when you are diabetic, well now you can make some for yourself following this simple diabetic recipe.
Take 1 ¼ cup of water, 1 ¼ cup of shortening, 2 cup seedless raisins, ½ tablespoon of nutmeg and 2 tablespoon of cinnamon. Boil all of these ingredients for about above 3 minutes. Let cool and beat 2 eggs in it dissolve the reasonable quantities of soda, ground saccharin in 2 tablespoon water into the mixture. Add 2 cups of flour and baking powder to the mixture. For final preparations bake the mixture at 350 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes.
A cake for diabetic is something which is tempting and interesting at the same time. you would need 2 cups of water, 2 cups of raisins, 1 cup of unsweetened applesauce, 2 cups of flour, 1 teaspoon of vanilla, 2 eggs, 2 tablespoon liquid sweetener, ¾ cup cooking oil, 1 teaspoon baking soda, 1 ¼ teaspoon cinnamon and ½ teaspoon nutmeg. Cook raisins in the water until it is completely evaporated, then add applesauce, eggs oil and all forms of sweetener in it. Mix baking soda and flour in it and blend. Then add the remaining ingredients into the mixture. You might want to add walnuts into the cake because they are really good for diabetic patients. If you don’t want to add raisins into the cake, add artificially flavored fruit cocktail in the mixture to make it taste the same. Bake the mixture in the pan at about 350 degrees for 40 and above minutes till it is golden brown.
You can also make fruit smoothies for yourself using fresh fruits and artificial sweetener in it. Skim milk and low fat sugar could also be implemented in place of the original ones.
